    1. I actually have everdark caligo on farm with guardian. the trick is, this isn't a guard counter fight. you want to punish with strong weapon skills. it's time to play guardian as a yoked stamina combo player. anything with decent fire splash, or a straight up ranged skill is what you want to look out for. in the fight itself, you can double hand swap between your shield for advancing on him, and then swap to your weapon and wail on him. faith mod is of special note here, because you can just find a fireball seal and toss them like a professional baseball player.

    2. the balancer trails are weird but you can block em, just for whatever reason the hitbox is backwards from where youd think it'd be

    3. Birb (Guardian) and Nerd (Scholar) deserve all the love! They might not be the best in DPS, but in the right hands, they can hold their own.

    4. Call me crazy but dormant whips and guardians Dexterity relic. They get long reach with their guard counters and deal strike damage. Whipped balancers on depth 4 so dirty

    5. Don't forget about the things Guardian ult can interrupt. It's really good at stopping everdark ghost moth's red laser ult, for example

    6. Wow, I LOVED the tech for the possessed moth red rain attack. Can't wait to try it. Just another thing that makes the bird OP, I suppose. 💅

      Fantastic video, Brophades!

    7. Let's be real, partial hp restoration after taking damage is probably the one relic that is useful on every melee nightfarer. Casters are a little too squishy for it, and the spell casting time plus travel time makes it unlikely youll be able to take advantage of it, but The (Melee) Boyz? Chunk those motherfuckers and get your hp back.

    8. This video made me realise how different my playstyle for Guardian is. I run improved Mind and Faith with dormant great spears and no shockwaves on Steel Guard, so I can't use over half of the advice presented. 🥲

Regardless, this is an excellent guide and I'll definitely keep it in mind for future use. Proper use of blocking is an incredible safety blanket that has saved me many times while playing Revenant and Recluse.

    9. Elemental mitigation for chip damage [and relevant Greatshields] per boss;
Gladius : Fire [Redmane, Visage, Guardian's]
Adel : Lightning [Dragonclaw, Ant Skull, Icon]
Fulghor and Libra : Holy [ Erdtree, Crucible, Haligtree]
Gnoster, Maris and Caligo : Magic [Silver Mirrorshield, Eclipse, Cuckoo]
Heolstor : Whatever he feels like at the time, but leans to Magic

An appropriately statted shield, a couple of weapon/boss perks for affinity negation, and post-damage regain relic effect can give you enough mit to get away with blocking some of the elemental attacks.

    10. I guess the executor is just a better guardian if your strategy is to use mostly guard counters. The cursed sword uses little to no stamina and with relics you can do insane damage with counter and posture damage, also the crit build is goated. But i just love the bird. He just looks so menacing yet has a gentle heart.

    11. A fun thing I like to do against Heolstor's orb attack is to just shield-poke and tank the attack with hp restoration upon thrusting counterattack + partial hp restorarion 😂

    12. Thanks mate! 🤘 Guardian is super fun when you figure him out, even if you're only mediocre like me. 😄

I just made a "Nightreign Legendary" playlist, and this is the first video in it.

    13. Guardian is one of those characters i wanted to get good with but just found its so overwhelming. Like some bosses have small guard counters opening and it just makew his play style inconsistent especially if your team dmg is bad

    14. i recently started trying guardian again (like a few hours ago) and damn hes really really strong. i remember playing him a while ago and not really enjoying him, mainly due to me not exactly liking his playstyle (and me not fully understanding it) and i swear he has been like buffed to hell and back. on my first time trying him in deep of night solo (depth 3 which i just got done with right now) i managed to get suprisingly close to killing everdark gladius.
Anyway thank you for both being the reason i started properly trying scholar and now guardian again

    15. Great video. A few tips..the upper mine by has a pumpkin head right at the start for a SS to UPGRADE your shield which is the most important thing for G. I have specific builds for every NL mainly affinity negation. Executor has a yellow relic for Hp AND ult regain. Use it. For ED Caligo I run dormant crossbows which almost always will get you the pulley, then look for any buffs to ranged combat. GG

    16. It will never fail to piss me off that the “charged attacks with halberd summon a whirlwind” relic effect doesn’t apply to charged guard counters.

Like they gave him the ability to CHARGE his guard counter with ONLY halberds.

Then they add a relic effect that says “CHARGED attacks with HALBERDS SPECIFICALLY generate whirlwinds”

Like why wouldn’t they pair those two together. It’s not even just that it’s an obvious choice to add a little extra flair to Guardian’s signature move.

The wording implies it should work. Changing it so it worked with charged guard counters wouldn’t even feel like a buff, it would honestly kinda feel like a bug fix.

    17. You see I could manage my vigor buuuut I found wraiths while walking and now have become lobotomized
Edit: You know I was too busy trying to not die to notice the balancer main weapon change thanks for the advice

    18. Guardian is so ass, so bad in most of the cases, if you are new and climbing DON and see the fucking bird in your team know its a -400/-800
eagle american lovers just doing mental gymnastic to avoid calling weakest character in the game "ass"

    19. You forgot to mention Dreglord has a combo in which he pulls his weapon towards him that hits from behind you so it'll hit behind your shield. Pretty key move to point out
