The MMORPGs I’m Playing, Watching, and Dropping
I’ve tried a lot of MMORPGs over the past few months. Some I’m dropping, some I’m still watching, and three have earned a spot in my rotation.
Here’s where I currently stand on Camelot Unchained, Embers Adrift, Monsters & Memories, Warhammer Online: Return of Reckoning, Farever, Scars of Honor, Soulframe, Guild Wars 2, and Final Fantasy XIV.
This isn’t a ranking of the “best MMORPGs.” It’s a look at what clicked with me, what didn’t, what still has potential, and the MMOs I’m actually planning to play for the rest of 2026.
Let me know in the comments what MMO you’re playing right now – and which upcoming MMORPG you’re most excited about.

Good to hear from you again, brother! We’ve been on pretty much the same journey of discovery since the Ashes of Creation collapse.
I tested out pretty much the same games you did and even made a few videos about Warhammer Online. It was very entertaining, but—like you said—not something you’d want to sink the next few months into.
FF14 is on my list, though I probably won't get around to it until early next year. It’s that "on-and-off" game I keep coming back to.
I recently rediscovered SWTOR and was surprised by how much has changed over the last 14 years—and just how fun a well-written Star Wars story is (looking at you DISNEY😤), especially with friends!
A major 8.0 patch is coming up at the end of the year, bringing new content and a kinda "SWTOR Classic" mode. It’s sure to be really cool and is definitely worth checking out. 😉
You should take a look at City of Heroes: Homecoming. Essentially along the same vein as Warhammer – they have permission to run a private server and take donations for operating costs. They've even kept working on it and adding content to the game.
Hell yeah brother… I've taken a big step back from MMOs in general and started playing more single player games. The game I've been absolutely obsessed with (500 hours deep so far) is Kenshi… you should look into it.
It's good to see that you're still making vids brother… here's a like and a comment for the algorithm gods.
Thanks for the shout-out! I'm glad you got to try some games you might not have otherwise considered. I love a good slow-burn game, so Embers Adrift and M&M really appeal to me.
I keep telling myself I need to give FFXIV a proper try, but it was funny how visceral my reaction was when you showed the GW2 and FFXIV footage back-to-back. They're both just so visually busy! I could practically feel myself tensing up watching all that stuff happening on screen.
SWTOR and FF14 are the top 2 mmorpg for me right now and No rest for the wicked top 1 ARPG. SWTOR soon patch 8.0 and direct X 12, FF14 soon 8.0 as well and enhanced combat mode ! 2 huge expansions coming !
